Oh Dear.

Well, it's been quite some time since I've posted anything. I've been reading like crazy, but haven't been a good little reviewer. The Gentleman Friend and I moved to a new apartment at the beginning of April and it was a complete and utter disaster. The assclown who lived there before us hadn't quite finished moving out (i.e. piles of junk and garbage everywhere - including a large amount of gravel in one of the closets. gravel? seriously. i will never understand.) it made for a delightful scene when we showed up with our movers and our giant truck full of stuff. Let's just call it an "altercation."

He also didn't clean anything. It wasn't the normal amount of moving to a new apartment dirt - it was like crackhouse dirt. filth. putrefaction. slime. muck. you name it. rotten food in the fridge and a thick, crusty layer of dirt on everything. sweet! It was so dirty we couldn't even bring the cats in the house - they had to spend two nights at auntie V and uncle B's house. we ended up hiring cleaners and my dad came down to help paint (the living room was dark burgundy and the dining room was dark teal. pretty.) anyway - it's done. we've 99% unpacked and everything is pretty much situated. it has been a long and rather tedious process, however, and i'm still planning on finding a way to have him killed. painfully.
